The journey of Genius Music is a testament to our unbreakable dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, a journey that began in 2011. We didn't have much, but we had a dream. In the heart of a bedroom, we built the first Genius Studio, a humble start to what would become a creative powerhouse. Gem the Engineer, a true force in this game, was out there grinding since the early days, working with independent artists, showing that hustle in this ever-changing music world.

Between 2011 and 2018, Genius Music faced the tough times of the music industry's rollercoaster. Gem, holding it down as an Audio Engineer & Business owner, collaborated with local UK talents in countless sessions, just enough to keep the lights on and food in the fridge. But through all the ups and downs, we never compromised on the quality of our art.

Then came a game-changer – connecting with artists from the US. We bridged the gap between the UK and US music scenes, dropping tracks like Yung E's, produced by our in-house Genius Music producers. That opened up a whole new chapter, leading to the formation of our music group with Reapz and ENG. We collaborated, dropped tracks, and explored all kinds of music styles.

After parting ways, we took a different path, steering toward the independent label route. We started signing a fresh wave of talent, including music producers, songwriters, and artists. It's been a journey filled with persistence, innovation, and a commitment to quality. From our humble beginnings, we've grown into a powerhouse in independent music, all while keeping it real and staying true to our roots.

Genius Music (the Independent music company), founded in 2017 by the visionary duo of Gem the Engineer and Emmz the Vibesmith, embarked on its journey with a close-knit and talented group of audio engineers and music producers including the esteemed Legacy Art, who shared a common dream: to leave an indelible mark on the music scene.

Right from the start, the company embodied an ethos of innovation, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to the art of music production.

In 2018, Genius Music took its first major step forward by signing our first Producer/Artist, Ayydee, a talented artist representing Birmingham. This moment marked the start of something special for the company, as we pooled our skills and talents to create a unique sound that would set the stage for our future endeavors.

Fast forward to 2019, we expanded the Genius Music family by signing the incredibly gifted R&B artist Nyla Sings. With Nyla on board, we embarked on an exciting journey to elevate her career as an independent artist. Our dedication to nurturing artistic growth and pushing the boundaries of creativity remained at the core of Genius Music's ethos, ensuring that our path in the music industry would always be defined by innovation and excellence.

In 2019, Genius Music reached another pivotal milestone when we established our very own recording studio. This endeavor not only solidified our presence in the music industry but also served as a catalyst for the growth and deepening bond within the Genius Music team. The studio became a creative hub where our talents flourished, our collaborations thrived, and our vision for the future of music took shape.
